Competitive intelligence
Audience: Product / GTM
Goal: Maintain a living competitive knowledge base that stays fresh automatically and generates tailored briefs on demand.
Setup
- One Pod shared across Product and GTM (e.g. "Competitive Intel")
- Members: PMs, AEs, and marketing
- Visibility: Restricted
- Files tab: attach win/loss analysis, competitor teardowns, and positioning docs
Usage
Light — shared research room, on-demand briefs
Use the Pod as a shared home for competitive research. Drop teardowns, win/loss reports, and positioning docs into the Files tab. Any team member can start a conversation at any time to ask the agent to generate a competitive brief for a specific competitor, tailored to a deal, a product decision, or a pricing conversation.
The agent uses everything in the Files tab as context — no need to dig through folders or remember where things are stored.
Medium — automated monitoring, regular digests
- Use the wake-up tool to schedule a recurring agent that searches for competitor news, product releases, pricing changes, and job postings — and posts a structured digest into the Pod each week
- Before a deal or product review, ask an agent to synthesise everything in the Pod into a tailored brief for a specific competitor, including their latest moves and how to position against them
- Set up tasks for the team to do regular teardown work (try a competitor's product, review their docs, attend a webinar) and use ▶ to have agents compile findings into a structured report
Heavy — always-on competitive intelligence layer
- Agents monitor multiple signal sources in parallel: product changelogs, G2 reviews, social media, job postings, and press releases — all posted into the Pod as structured conversations tagged by competitor
- When a new deal is created in the CRM, an agent automatically generates a competitive brief for the most relevant competitor and posts it into the customer's Pod (if using the one Pod per customer setup)
- A quarterly agent reads the full Pod history and generates a competitive landscape summary: share of wins vs. losses, patterns in objections, emerging competitors, and recommended positioning updates
- The global Dust agent can answer questions like "how do we compare to Competitor X on pricing?" by reading the Pod directly — giving every AE instant access to competitive intelligence without a dedicated enablement call
Outcome
No one manually tracks competitors. The Pod accumulates fresh intelligence automatically, and every team member can get a tailored brief in seconds.
