LLM Model Refresh: Grok 4.3 Upgrade and Anthropic Model Migrations
📌 Context
Two of our LLM providers are making changes to their model lineups, and this affects the models available in Dust. Here’s what’s changing and when.
Grok 4.3 upgrade (happening now): xAI has deprecated Grok 3 and replaced it with Grok 4.3 — at the same price point but with significantly better performance. This upgrade is live now. If you were using Grok 3, your agents will automatically switch to Grok 4.3 — no action needed.
Anthropic model migrations (deadline: July 31, 2025): Anthropic is deprecating older Claude models. Here’s the mapping of legacy models to their recommended replacements:

Deadline: July 31, 2025. After that date, Anthropic will stop serving these legacy models.
🔄 Impact on Dust
Dust’s pre-built "global" agents (like @claude-sonnet) already run on the latest models and are unaffected. The risk is only for custom agents that were manually configured to use a specific legacy model ID.

If you or your team have built custom agents on one of the legacy Anthropic models listed above, those agents will stop working after July 31, 2025. Check your custom agents and switch them to a supported model before the deadline.
✅ Actions required
Review your custom agents before July 31. You can do this from the Agent Builder in Dust: go to your agent list, open any custom agent, and check the model it’s configured to use. If it’s one of the deprecated models, update it to the recommended replacement.
