Changelog Update

🎯 What is it?

The Confluence MCP Server is now available to all Dust workspaces — no preview access needed. This integration allows your agents to interact directly and dynamically with your Confluence instance: reading, searching, and even writing content, all from within Dust.

💡 Why is it useful?

Until now, Dust could connect to Confluence as a read-only data source — syncing pages so agents could search them. With the MCP Server, agents go further: they can now act on Confluence in real time. Whether it's fetching the latest version of a page, pulling a comment thread, or drafting and publishing new content, your agents become active contributors to your knowledge base, not just readers.

⚙️ How does it work?

Once a workspace admin connects Confluence via Spaces > Tools, the integration becomes available to all members. Anyone can then add the Confluence tool to their agents. From there, agents can call Confluence directly during conversations — searching pages, reading history, creating or updating content, and leaving inline comments.

Concrete Use Cases

Here's how you could use it:

  • Knowledge base maintenance: Ask an agent to find an outdated onboarding page, summarize the changes needed, and update it directly in Confluence — no copy-pasting required.

  • Meeting follow-ups: After a meeting, have an agent create a new Confluence page with the summary, action items, and decisions, structured and published automatically in the right space.

  • Documentation Q&A: Ask an agent "What does our runbook say about database rollbacks?" — it will search and read the relevant Confluence pages in real time, even private ones.

  • Audit & review: Have an agent pull the edit history of a critical page and summarize what changed and who changed it.

📈 Benefits for you

  • Agents that write, not just read: Go beyond passive search — your agents can now create and update Confluence pages.

  • Always up to date: Since agents query Confluence live, they always work with the latest content, not a cached snapshot.

  • Reduced context-switching: Keep documentation workflows inside Dust, without jumping between tools.

  • Collaboration at scale: Agents can leave inline comments, making it easy to flag items, suggest changes, or annotate pages for teammates.

🚀 How to access it?

  1. Admin setup: Go to Spaces > Tools in your Dust workspace and connect your Confluence account.

  2. Agent setup: Once connected, any member can add the Confluence tool to their agents from the agent builder.

  3. No additional configuration required — the tool is ready to use immediately after setup.

Who is this for? Any Dust workspace connected to Confluence (Cloud). If your team already uses Confluence as a knowledge base, this unlocks a new level of automation and agent capability.
