Snowflake MCP Server — Now Generally Available

🎯 What is it?

The Snowflake MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server is now available to all Dust workspaces. Your agents can connect directly to Snowflake and interact with your data — listing databases, schemas, and tables, running SQL queries, inspecting column definitions, and retrieving results — all within a conversation.

💡 Why is it useful?

Until now, getting insights from Snowflake required switching between tools, writing queries manually, or relying on data teams. With this integration, your agents can query your Snowflake data warehouse on the fly, turning natural language questions into structured data results without ever leaving Dust.

⚙️ How does it work?

Once configured by an admin, the Snowflake MCP Server is available as a tool that any agent can use. Simply ask your agent a data-related question, and it will query Snowflake, retrieve the relevant results, and surface them directly in the conversation.

Concrete Use Cases

Here's how you could use it:

  • Sales reporting: Ask your agent "What were our top 10 accounts by revenue last quarter?" — it queries Snowflake and returns the answer instantly, no dashboard needed.

  • Data exploration: Ask "What tables are available in our analytics schema?" to help your team understand what data exists before diving into deeper analysis.

📈 Benefits for you

  • Faster access to data insights without switching tools

  • No SQL expertise required for end users — agents handle the query logic

  • Enables data-driven conversations directly in Dust, for the whole team

🚀 How to access it?

Admins can set up the Snowflake MCP Server in Spaces → Tools. Once configured, it becomes available for any agent in your workspace. No action is needed from end users — just start asking your agent data questions!
